The Primary School opened in East Palo Alto in the fall of 2016. The East Palo Alto site is starting with multiple cohorts of early childhood students and families and will grow to serve children prenatally through grade 8. We are developing our program model in conjunction with many partners, including:
Ravenswood Family Health Center, a federally qualified health center, is working with us to provide a team-based approach to care for children and families
Ravenswood City School District is collaborating with us on shared programming opportunities for all children
The County of San Mateo health system is working with us on aligning programming for students and families across local and county systems
One Degree has created a free social services online platform to connect families to thousands of local free community resources
We have also been working with a group of parents in East Palo Alto on the design and implementation of the program. We would like to thank our Parent Advisory Group for their ongoing contributions to The Primary School and our work in East Palo Alto!
The Primary School hosted a community roundtable with U.S Secretary of Education John King, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health Nadine Gracia, and local partners on the efforts to integrate health and education in East Palo Alto.
