Alison Kjeldgaard

Alison is passionate about building a more equitable education system that prepares all children for successful and meaningful futures. She has experience leading content strategy and marketing for nonprofits and other socially-conscious organizations.

Alison began her career as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Denver Public Schools, where she worked with families and community partners to improve student attendance. This experience opened her eyes to the profound disconnect between public school resources and the very real day-to-day challenges that prevent students from coming to school ready to learn. She moved to the Bay Area to continue working for organizations that support underserved children and families. Most recently, Alison led content strategy and digital marketing at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco.

Outside of work, Alison has volunteered with Net Impact, Acumen, and Girls on the Run. She has also moonlighted as a journalist and editor, writing about art and sustainable travel.

Alison holds a Master in Social Entrepreneurship from Hult International Business School and a BA in English Literature from Occidental College. In her spare time, she loves to travel, dance, and spend time with her husband and dog.
