BAYLANDS NATURE PRESERVE

Our first graders planted seedlings along the road outside of the reserve and enjoyed the beauty of nature in their own backyard.

An art fellow from EPACENTER ARTS hosted weekly Capoeira classes to get students excited about a fun new way to exercise.

The local library hosted a special workshop about monarch butterflies, working with students to plant milkweed (monarch caterpillars’ favorite food).

WALK TO SCHOOL CHALLENGE

WALK TO SCHOOL CHALLENGE

We hosted a Walk to School Challenge around the community to activate excitement about physical activity. The East Palo Alto Police Department joined us to cheer at the finish line.

Our students went on a field trip to Ravenswood Family Health Center, where Spiderman made a special appearance to demonstrate a check up.

At our Community Night, we celebrated our students’ achievements in the classroom and invited community partners to share summer resources with families.
