Claudia grew up in Newark and has lived in the Bay Area most of her life.  She attended Chabot College and UC Santa Cruz to obtain her BA in Psychology.  Before joining The Primary School, Claudia began her career working as a residential treatment counselor for adolescents. She would later practice behavioral therapy in homes and schools for children diagnosed with autism, where she would develop a passion for working with children with complex needs.  After working for six years across the East Bay, Peninsula, and South Bay as a behavioral therapist and early interventionist, Claudia pursued a Master’s degree in Education.  She also obtained her MA and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in 2015 from San Jose State University and has since worked for a private clinic and several public schools with children ranging from infancy to young adulthood. She enjoys working with children and their families and being part of a school community.  Outside of work, Claudia enjoys going on road trips, cycling, hiking, and picking up a new book to read. Claudia and her husband stay busy as parents to two young children, dog, parakeet, and seven chickens.
