Chelsea was born and raised in East San Jose.  She has spent the last seven years teaching kindergarten and first grade in Santa Clara Unified. Chelsea received her B.A. in Communications from UCLA.  After working in public relations, Chelsea knew that she had a calling to make a positive impact in her community.  She began substitute teaching and discovered her passion for education, which made sense because she always loved school growing up. She decided to return to school to earn her teaching credential from National Hispanic University.

While teaching first grade, Chelsea discovered her love for teaching literacy. She became trained as a Reading Recovery teacher and enjoyed being a reading interventionist for three years.

Chelsea is thrilled to join The Primary School and be part of a team that empowers students and families to be the best version of themselves.  Chelsea is currently working on her Master’s of Education in Education Policy and Leadership.  In her free time, Chelsea loves to read, cuddle with her dog Buttercup, and bake.
