Elizet graduated from Humboldt State University with a dual bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice Studies and Critical Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Elizet has over 7 years of experience in supporting and providing direct services to individuals and families facing intersecting adversities and barriers who come from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds

Elizet has worked with students at a college campus as well as families and individuals at an emergency 30-day shelter. They gained experience on how to best support, advocate for, and provide trauma informed, survivor centered case management to those facing domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Elizet most recently worked with young, pregnant or parenting mothers throughout Santa Clara county where they supported mothers through advocacy, coaching, educational navigation, facilitating peer learning groups, and connections to community resources.

Elizet has a strong belief in the power of community and family whether that is through blood or chosen family. They are excited to be part of The Primary School because of their innovative approach to connecting families and children with access to education, health care, and community support.
