Desiree Mora Mongrut

Desiree’s first experiences working with families and young children started early in 2018. As a private young children’s caregiver, tutor, and/or governess as requested by the parents, based on the particular family needs and expectations of these. This work setting started even before her journey as a student at Canada College began in 2018 while hoping to achieve an Early Childhood Education, Psychology, and Social and Behavioral Sciences major. Furthermore, Desiree volunteered as a teacher in an after school program in 2022 for TK/PreK to Kindergarten age group. She led, created class activities, developed a curriculum, and assessed students and classroom settings while following regulatory guidance. In addition to building meaningful and long-lasting relationships with her students, parents, and coworkers, while providing and being provided with feedback to all members of the program.

Desiree at all times felt comfortable and natural while being in the classroom environment for the very first time, and discovered her value as a young children’s educator. Consequently, Desiree continued working throughout her whole career and volunteering path in the private sector until early 2023. When she finally graduated from these three early mentioned majors, and thought that it would be best for her professional development and growth to get out of her comfort zone and accomplish one of her greatest dreams as an early educator to provide a better learning quality. While having the opportunity to support and promote positive early learning experiences to young children, and to allow in this way our leaders of tomorrow to have the highest quality of education and support despite their background and/or any sort of obstacle they and their family members might be facing. Desiree keeps on showing core values and practices in her new journey as a PS3 associate teacher day by day at The Primary School. She is beyond thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to be considered part of this community, which is trying to promote a more positive and efficient approach to young children in a more significant and broader aspect of their lives. That primary focus is to prioritize the success of our youngest generation despite their personal circumstances.
